Laton World, 2009
public project
Reunion / Reuniøn
Central Valley, CA
In collaboration with Laton High School’s metal shop program, this project took the form of a 3-month workshop with eight youth. It resulted in the installation of a temporary sculpture park and youth-led event that included a DJ, an art sales booth, and signage representative of their collective manifesto. Laton World was one element in the large-scale, community project Reunion / Reunión led by Suzanne Lacy.
The project was part of Art in Rural Contexts initiative, supported by Ford Foundation and Urban Institute.
